What St. Augustine could not possibly have known, owing to its initial discovery in 1915, is that the nearest star, practically next door to us in the cosmic scheme of things, is just under four and a quarter light years away. Other celestial objects are thought to be many orders of magnitude more distant. Most of the universe appears vastly underutilized from a terrestrial perspective. At this rate, whether the love of your life is 6 or 600 miles away on some other patch of Earth seems patently immaterial, although the concept does maintain a certain intuitive appeal.  

What this new administration has yet to come up with, among other things, is any proof as to why things were supposedly better when more people believed things that later turned out to be completely wrong. Accordingly, they and their allies are hardly in a position to claim that the condition of the country would improve under a similarly aligned reversion.
